Singlish belongs to everyone here. Keep it fun, keep it kind.

Not allowed

• Anything that insults or stereotypes a race or a religion.
• Anything about a real private person: no names, no classmates, no exes.
• Threats, harassment, or personal details (phone numbers, addresses).
• Spam and ads.

Allowed

• Vulgar Singlish, marked NSFW. It's part of the language.
• Jokes, exaggeration and the way your auntie really talks.
• Words from NS, school, work and your group chat.

How it works

A person checks every word and every voice recording before it goes live. If three people report an entry, it's hidden until we look at it again.

When you send a definition or a recording, you allow Singlish Dictionary to show it on this site and in its posts and videos, with the name you gave. Ask us to take your entry or recording down at any time.

Some starter entries are adapted from Wiktionary under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence; each one links to its source.
